Nicolas Cage a Hollywood actor who is known for his method acting was born on January 7, 1964 in California to Joy Vogelsang and August Coppola. Nicolas got fascinated to acting at the age of 15 while attending an acting class in American Conservatory Theatre. He then decided to leave his education and follow his passion for acting. He made his acting debut in television in the year 1981.
In 1982, he made his film debut with Fast Times at Ridgemont High. He then appeared in Valley Girl (1983), Birdy (1984), Sue Got Married (1986), Raising Arizona (1987), Moonstruck (1987), Wild at Heart (1990), Vampire’s Kiss (1992), Honey moon in Vegas (1992).
In 1995 he portrayed an alcoholic screenwriter in Leaving Las Vegas. His performance in the film was so impactful that he won both a Golden Globe award as well as Academy Award for Best Actor.
Nicolas then shifted to thriller genre and appeared in The Rock (1996), Con Air (1997), John Woo’s Face/Off (1997), Brian De Palma’s Snake Eyes (1998), Bringing Out the Dead in 1999 and Gone in 60 Seconds.
Following years he accepted romantic roles for movies The Family Man and Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. Nicolas got married three times; first to Patricia Arquette in 1995, the second to Lisa-Marie Presley in 2002 and third to Alice Kim in 2004. The couple announced the birth of their daughter on October 3, 2005.
